Rare earth modifiers series products
This modifier series products are new neotype compound modifier which is made by optimizing compound active elements on the base of Yttrium-based Heavy Rare-earth whic has an extremely strong capacity of modification and purifying molten iron.
1. The grades and chemical composition of rare earth modifiers for chromium white cast iron are shown in Label 1:
I. Characteristics of the product
1. The product has strong purifying grain boundary, reducing harmful elements and inclusion segregation at grain boundary, improving the shape, size and distribution of inclusions, reducing stress concentration accordingly, reducing crack sources, improving the bonding strength of grain boundary, achieving grain boundary strengthening, thereby improving the strength and toughness of materials and reducing spalling wear.
2. The product can obviously refine the grain, eliminate the thick columnar crystal and dendritic structure in the casting state, and achieve the effect of grain boundary strengthening, so as to improve the strength and toughness of the material.
3. A variety of active elements in the modifier can play the role of solid solution strengthening, and can also form fine dispersed carbide and metal intercrystalline compound particles with high hardness and strength to form dispersion strengthening, so as to improve the wear resistance.
4. This product improved the morphology and distribution of carbide, refine, broken carbide, consists of the original mesh, bone, tending to island, massive, granular distribution, and distribution uniformity, reduce the number of carbide on the matrix fracture effect, and can promote the heat treatment of eutectic carbide graining, simplify the heat treatment process to improve the comprehensive performance of the material.
5. With the refinement additive, the impact value of the casting can be increased by more than 20% on average and the wear resistance can be increased by 20-30% by combining with the actual smelting and heat treatment process.

I. Characteristics of the product:
1. The product is rich in various active elements, can effectively play the role of solid solution strengthening and dispersion strengthening, and can inhibit the precipitation of carbides in the grain boundary of as-cast alloy steel, thus greatly improving the mechanical properties and wear resistance of as-cast alloy steel.
2. This product has strong ability to purify steel water, effectively purify grain boundary, eliminate pores, reduce the segregation of H, O, S, P and other non-metallic elements in grain boundary, improve the shape, size and distribution of grain boundary inclusions, play the role of grain boundary strengthening, so as to improve the plasticity and machining performance of steel, improve the process yield.
3. The product obviously refined grain and matrix structure, so as to improve the grain boundary bonding strength, grain boundary strengthening, improve the comprehensive properties of the material.
4. This product not only promotes the rapid formation of oxide film on the surface of the alloy, improves the adhesion of oxide, but also prevents the peeling of oxide, thus improving the heat resistance of the material.
5. When used in high-speed steel or wear-resisting alloy steel, it can improve the shape and distribution of carbides, refine, break up carbide and disperse carbide in uniform distribution, reduce the risk of rendering the matrix, suppress stress concentration, and promote the heat treatment granulation of eutectic carbides, simplify the heat treatment process and therefore improve the overall performance of the material.

3. The grades and chemical composition of rare earth modifiers such as heat-resistant steel and high-speed tool steel are shown in Label 3:
I. Characteristics of the product
1. With superposition and combination process, high purity and low silicon content, this modifier has a wide range of application.
2. With the advantage of improving the casting performance, combining trace low melting point harmful impurities(Arsenic, Lead, Antimony, Bismuth, Tin and other elements are high melting point non-metallic inclusions) and row them into slag,therefore achieve the effect of refining grain purifying grain boundary.
3. With the advantages of high temperature and high endurance, low brittleness, good weldability, excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, so the working life is two to ten times as long as like products. By process integration, it can save nickel and chromium content in heat-resistant steel, so it reduces the production cost substantially.
4. It can retard and hinder the agglomeration of carbides, make carbides distribue uniformly with dispersed granularity,refine grain. By microalloying it can strengthen matrix. Consequently, it can improve red hardness, durability and tenacity by an average of 30% and improve production yield by about 20%.
5. Good carburizing resistance, excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance high temperature strength, with these characteristics, this product can improve fatal weakness of brittle fracture of Fe-Cr-Al alloy and make this alloy easy for welding and cold forming.
